CSAB Round 1 Seat Allotment 2025: Steps to Accept & Avoid Cancellation

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has announced the Round 1 seat allotment results for admissions to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) for the academic year 2025–26. Candidates who have been allotted a seat in this round must act promptly to avoid automatic cancellation of their allotment.

What Is CSAB Special Round?

CSAB conducts special counselling rounds after the main JoSAA counselling process concludes. These rounds are meant to fill seats that remain vacant in participating institutes. Candidates who did not receive a seat during JoSAA, or those who wish to try for a different institute or branch, are eligible to participate in CSAB special rounds.

Key Steps After Round 1 Seat Allotment

Candidates allotted a seat in CSAB Round 1 must follow the steps below carefully. Failure to complete any of these steps within the given deadline will result in automatic cancellation of the allotted seat:

• Log in to the official CSAB portal using your JEE Main application number and password.
• Check your allotment letter and verify institute, branch, and category details carefully.
• Pay the seat acceptance fee online through the CSAB portal within the specified deadline. This is a mandatory step to confirm your seat.
• Choose your preference — whether you wish to freeze, float, or slide your seat for subsequent rounds (if applicable).
• Upload required documents as per the institute's online reporting process.
• Report to the allotted institute either physically or through the online reporting mechanism as directed by the respective institute.

Consequences of Not Responding

Candidates who fail to pay the seat acceptance fee or do not complete the online reporting within the deadline will have their Round 1 allotment cancelled. Such candidates may lose eligibility for subsequent CSAB rounds as well, depending on the rules applicable at the time. It is therefore critical to act within the window provided by the board.

• Class 10 certificate and marksheet (for date of birth proof)
• Class 12 certificate and marksheet
• JEE Main 2025 scorecard
• CSAB allotment letter
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS), if applicable

• Passport-size photographs
• Valid photo identity proof (Aadhaar card, passport, etc.)
